I've been reading up a lot on healthy eating and thought my kids ate pretty well. It wasn't until a conversation with a friend and my sister over the weekend that I realized how terribly I have been allowing my kids to eat.
Even though we have a veggie patch and I teach them the importance of eating well at school I don't practice those philosophies at home. Truthfully they eat only processed foods and mainly directly from our freezer. Fruit and veggies from tins and tons of sugar.
I actually feel like a bit of a failure right now but I'm about to change that around! It's the start of our food revolution. I did some more reading and found some great new recipes. I went in search of healthy alternatives and only bought FRESH meat, veg and fruits. I read the labels of the foods I was buying, looked for products with no added sugars and tried to buy mainly organic products. It was no more expensive than the normal over processed, tin, frozen, sugar filled junk I usually buy. It's our start!
I will be sharing some of my recipes that the kids loved on the site.
